About Us

I started COOPilots with two goals: helping founders thrive, and helping caregivers in their time of need.

Our theory:

  1. Founders need a trusted partner to take the more organized, detail-oriented work from them and drive the organization’s growth - so founders can focus where they excel and gain time in their days.

  2. It will take 18-24 months for the business to scale and be ready for a full-time hire.

  3. Having someone who can provide continuity as the business grows is important.

4. Caregivers are the most organized and action-oriented people on the planet.

5. On average 4-hours of day to focus on their person in need (source: BLS)— which requires them being remote first and flexible.

6. More than half of caregivers provide care for 24 months or fewer (source: BLS)— after which, they may be ready to return to full-time work — just in time for the company they helped build to have scaled.

If we pair the two with our methodology for growing companies, we can help businesses grow and prevent losing an entire generation of leaders.

Founders are the backbone of the US economy. Small businesses account for 43.5% of the GDP and nearly 2/3rds of all new jobs.

But founding is a roller coaster. Sometimes hour to hour, you can feel like you’re on top of the world or worry you’re crazy for investing your time in this.

I’ve been there — first with my parents who founded an accounting practice, and then later as part of a team who grew a company to multiple millions in ARR, 12 staff and 160+ contractors and then exited.

Despite our success, I felt I needed to learn more. I went onto study how 6,500 entrepreneurs developed around the world, then helped build an incubator for high-tech founders, and finally found my way into management and innovation consulting before starting this practice.

I’ve been able to help over 100 founders directly generate $18M+ in revenue and another $3M raised. Now, I want to help others grow their business - get out of the weeds, see and feel momentum, and have the partners they need to KNOW they’re headed in the right direction.

Caregivers need one thing: flexible, remote-first jobs where they can excel.

Recently, an academic published a report about how many people — particularly women — were going into entrepreneurship UNWILLINGLY.

They were finding it increasingly difficult to find roles that enabled them to do childcare / eldercare / personal wellness responsibilities.

Then, Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released their Sept 2024 numbers. KPMG’s Chief Economist spotted a trend we’ve known was coming - the most folks since 2003 are out of work for eldercare. This problem is only beginning to crest as the Boomer generations and older begin to need more assistance.

Having been a family caregiver for the better part of 20 years, I know the difficulty this will cause. And I fear without additional options, we’re going to lose an entire generation of leaders to caregiving. These are typically high-caliber talent - highly organized, high EQ, and quick to learn. We can’t lose their capabilities.

BLS did a study in 2021 — caregivers need about 4 hours a day with their person to provide appropriate care. But they have to be onsite to be able to respond to urgent needs.
